Acorns Out of School Provision is based at Boorley Park Primary School. Acorns is open from 7:30 am to 8:45 am and 3:15 pm to 6:00 pm weekdays during term time, (excluding Inset days when Acorns is closed).
The breakfast club is runs daily from 7:30am. Children are provided with a choice of healthy breakfast including cereal, fruit toast and a drink. There will also be a range of activities on offer for children to join in with before school starts.
The after school club will be a fun and stimulating session at the end of the school day. There will be many activities to keep the children busy including creative activities, games, dressing up, reading and a wide range of resources to access. The staff working at the club work closely with the teachers in school to match the activities they plan to the interests of the children and with the skills they are currently learning in class.
The food we provide at the club is not intended as a substitute for a main evening meal. We provide healthy snacks including fresh fruit and vegetables and use ingredients which follow statutory guidelines, whilst also taking into account any specific dietary needs.
Our club is staffed by a highly qualified and very experienced play Leader who is supported by the teaching staff of the school. We aim to provide a smooth transition between school and Acorns, and your child will be delivered to their classroom by Acorns staff at the end of the breakfast session and collected at the beginning of the after school session.
All of our staff have significant experience of working with children and undertake professional development training. All staff members are DBS checked and are subject to Safeguarding and Prevent training in line with Ofsted requirements. We maintain staff ratios in line with current Ofsted requirements.
Acorns Out of School Provision is run as part of Boorley Park Primary School and all staff are employed by the Wildern Academy Trust in order to ensure continuity of care and to maintain good communication links.
