Highlights of the week:

During English lessons this week, students explored the poet Joseph Coelho and engaged in various activities. We have been thinking about emotions and how they link to colours. We then wrote our own rainbow of feelings poem all about the rainbow inside us.

Highlights of the week:

During English lessons this week, students explored the book "Werewolves Club Rules" and engaged in various activities. They began by analysing the poem "Hamster Hamster" and writing their own poems about desired pets. Towards the end of the week, they focused on the book "A Little Bit of Food" to develop their rhyming skills. By the end of the week, students had participated in creative writing, learned about rhyming, and enjoyed reading "Werewolf Club Rules."

Highlights of the week:

In this week's English lessons, the focus was on creative writing, inspired by the book "The Heart and the Bottle." The children used the story as a basis to create their own stories, changing the emotions and containers to come up with a new and unique narrative. They explored different emotions, such as happiness, sadness, anger, and fear, and how they could be represented by different containers or objects. The students also practised their writing skills, including creating a plot, developing characters, and using descriptive language.

Highlights of the week:

This week's English lessons focused on planning a story inspired by ‘The Heart and the Bottle’.  We have created a story map for our stories. In the story plan, we have included the five main parts; opening, build up, problem, resolution and ending. We can’t wait to write our stories next week.

Highlights of the week:

 This week's English lessons focused on a diary entry inspired by ‘The Heart and the Bottle’. We looked at different suffixes, such as; -ness and -ly. We then learnt about multi-clause sentences, which are sentences that contain more than one clause or idea. They were taught that these sentences often contain a main clause and one or more subordinate clauses, which provide additional information or detail about the main clause. Highlights of the week:

What a show!! I was one very proud teacher this week. I would like to personally thank all the children for working so hard to learn their lines and the songs. I would also like to thank the parents for helping them learn their lines and for coming to support us! Well done Year 3!

Highlights of the week:

 It’s almost showtime! We can’t wait to show you our performance. This week we continued to rehearse for our production, ‘That’s what I call the ‘ages’. The children in Year 3 also showed lots of courage when performing their dress rehearsal to the Year R and Year 2 children.
