Highlights of the week:

We have had a great start to the Summer Term! We have been busy asking questions, exploring strategies and linking ideas. We have been introduced to our enquiry question this term which is ‘Why can humans choose where to live and animals can’t?’ We will explore this in many ways and follow our own lines of enquiry as we learn.

Highlights of the week:

In English this week we have published our postcards. We have spent time showing pride in our work by making sure our handwriting is correct and neat. We then drew pictures of the different places we travelled to.

Highlights of the week:


In English this week we have focused on using coordinating and subordinating conjunctions in our writing. We have practised using them in writing a letter from Sunny (the Meerkat from our story) to his parents. We wanted to write a series of postcards to tell a story of our adventures in Kenya. We planned our postcards in great detail and included key information we have learnt in geography. When we wrote our postcards we practised editing our work so we can publish them next week.

Pancakes

Highlights of the week:

This week we have explored the book ‘Mama Panya’s Pancakes’ by Mary and Rich Chamberlin. It is a story written about a boy, Adika, who lives in a village in Kenya. The book explores his trip to the market with his mum to buy food to make pancakes.

This week has been a busy first week back at school! We have continued to look at our enquiry question ‘Are we all equal?’ This half term we are exploring the concepts of fairness and society through geography.
